Eating more plant-based food today could lead to gradual positive change for our environment tomorrow. That's why we're so passionate about crafting delicious food. But we don’t stop there! We're on a mission to make every single step of our journey regenerative and reducing our impact from soil to serving. That means contributing to the soil, biodiversity, reducing carbon intensity emissions, and taking steps towards better packaging. And, of course, creating products that taste absolutely delicious and are easy to prepare. That’s why we’re committed to getting more people to join us on our mission.

Our Emissions
Mission
90% of our soy protein is sourced from Europe – aiming to keep our footprint as low as possible at every step.
No Time
To Waste
36% less packaging material in our latest design, helping to reduce waste.
The Power Of Plants
We believe that the more people embrace plant-based food, the better the environment will be.
We believe in a regenerative future.
We know the importance of addressing climate change to protect our planet - every single action matters. That’s why we are embracing a way of farming that benefits farmers, the environment, and society - known as regenerative agriculture.
Regenerative farming practices are approaches to farming that, over time, can support healthy soil and improve biodiversity. And these aren't new methods - humans across the world have used them for thousands of years.
Back in 2022, we embarked on an exciting journey with our soy protein supplier in Serbia and the dedicated farmers who make it all possible. We're talking about transitioning to regenerative farming practices—because we believe in a future where good food and a thriving environment go hand-in-hand. From small family farms to larger companies, we're all in this together.
To make this transition as smooth and successful as possible, we've joined forces with the team at Preferred by Nature. They're a non-profit with over 30 years of experience championing better ways to care for the land and do business. They support farmers by working closely with them to develop personalized action plans tailored to their land, tracking the positive impact of regenerative practices through data collection and analysis, and offering ongoing training and resources to address the diverse needs and challenges of each farm.
Different practices are implemented on farm level. For example, we support the use of organic fertilisers to help restore the natural balance of the soil. We're also promoting biodiversity by for example planting 33.000 trees next to crops. Our dream? The perfect home for wildlife. Birds, bees, humans, and plants - all living in happy harmony!
By the end of 2024, our support to farmers to grow soy and produce soy protein with regenerative methods equals 70% of the volumes of soy protein we use. We aim to increase this every year!

External studies* suggest that plant-based products can have a low footprint. At Garden Gourmet, we are committed to reducing ours even further. We performed a complete analysis of our business to find the three most important areas to reduce our carbon emissions: ingredients, operations and packaging.
Quality ingredients and farming practices are key to great food. We're committed to trying to reduce our carbon footprint from soil to serving. which is why the soy protein we use is increasingly grown in Europe. An impressive 90% of our soy protein is already sourced from Europe—and we're on track to hit 100% by end 2025!
Meanwhile, we're not slacking when it comes to our factories. We are delighted that all our factories in Czech & Serbia in Europe already use 100% renewable electricity. Nice!
Another crucial part of reducing our emissions is reducing our packaging footprint - and that's exactly what we did and will keep doing.

It’s essential to us that our packaging seals in every bit of freshness and flavor, is recyclable - and looks great too. But we wanted to go further, creating packs that tick all those boxes while being lighter and kinder to our planet.
We have removed the paper sleeve from the tray packaging, with a design that’s not only recyclable but has 36% less packaging than before.
Alongside, we continue our packaging journey. Working with a team of expert partners we’re exploring what we humbly call ‘The Packaging of the Future’ – with the goal of improving our packaging (and it could contribute to a lower footprint) without sacrificing quality, safety, or taste.
We’re super excited about our packaging journey and can’t wait to tell you more soon.
